Anastasia Dmitrevskaya
“The Bridge Between Who I Am and The Home I Find.”
‘My name is Anastasia Dmitrevskaya. I was born in Russia and lived there for 10 years, until I moved to Portugal. Although I still miss my country and I go there every summer. I pass my free time with my hobbies, which include drawing, crocheting or running. When I am not doing that, I either read a book or watch videos on YouTube (many of which are TED talks). In the St Peters National Curriculum (where I was previously) there was a similar thing to TEDx which happened every year, I was always really interested in it, but was too afraid. Now that I joined the international system and am studying in the IB, it just made me feel like everything is possible and nothing was stopping me from joining, also knowing that my friends were organising this event made me feel calmer about the whole idea of talking to an audience. I am hoping this experience will make me less stressed about presenting in general, as well as give me a new experience and opportunity to share my story with others!’

Sophie Roepke
“Exploring the Architecture of Self”
‘Hi! My name is Sophie Roepke, I’m 14 years old, and I am a speaker for the TEDx St Peter’s Intl School Youth event. I’m Brazilian and lived in Vitória ES until I was 7, when I moved to Portugal. Throughout my life, I’ve travelled to many different countries which helped me have a better understanding of the world, and how different cultures, and historical pasts can make such a difference in a community. When I’m not in school, I have many hobbies, such as drawing, sculpting, crochet, and listening to music. I also really enjoy reading mystery and thriller books. I’m really excited to be a speaker in this TEDx conference, as it will help me step out of my comfort zone and allow me to share my perspective with others through my speech, as well as allowing me to understand different people’s perspectives.’
